Ms. Vijayalakshmy Sunderrajan assumed charge as Director of the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre at Kuala Lumpur on 8th August 2024. Before the present assignment she was working at the Ministry of External Affairs of India (MEA) as Director of Cypher, NGO, Vigilance & Inspection (CNV & I) Division. She has a wide experience working in various capacities at MEA – both at headquarters as well as at Indian Missions abroad. Her prior assignments abroad include Washington D.C (USA), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Muscat (Oman), Havana (Cuba) and Panama City (Panama). She has looked after Bilateral matters, Administration, Establishment, Vigilance, Press, Information and cultural matters etc. during her previous assignments.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Commerce and speaks English, Hindi, Tamil and Spanish. She has varied interests like reading, crafts, art and music. She is married to Mr. P. Sunderrajan and they have a daughter and a son.
